Anna Courville Collins, 93 passed away peacefully February 4, 2014 in a local hospital. Born on November 11, 1920 in Canton, Louisiana she was the oldest child of Clayus and Angelle Courville. Anna spent most of her early years in Opelousas, LA, moving to Lake Charles in 1955, where she resided the remainder of her life. She was always a very loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be forever remembered by family and friends for her warm and caring personality, always happy and had a positive attitude on life. Anna was a fabulous seamstress and enjoyed her plants and flowers. Family was her greatest pride and joy where she invested most of her love and time. Anna was a devoted Christian of the Catholic faith her entire life. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Richard and husband Ty of Baton Rouge, Norma Rempert, Dorothy McDaniel and Sheila Leibee and husband John, all of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Clayus and Angelle Courville; husband Joseph Alton Collins; grandson Daniel Glen Richard; sons-in-law James Rempert and John McDaniel; all of her younger siblings, Delma Stout, Verdie Richard, Barbara Guilbeaux, Anthony and Loyton Courville. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Carl Rempert, Brian Richard, Ty Richard, Jr., Trent McDaniel, Jared Leibee and great grandson, Mitchell Richard. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Friday February 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Reverend Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Anna's memory may be made to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church or St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
