Anna Pearl Ashford

Anna Pearl Ashford, 92, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Ashford was born November 1, 1928 in Ville Platte, LA and has lived in the Lake Charles area for over seventy years.  She was a longtime member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and enjoyed raising flowers in her garden.

Mrs. Ashford is survived by her children, Carol Benoit and wife Ruth of Kinder, Clifton “Pee-Wee” Benoit, Jr. and wife Cindy, Gary Benoit, Connie Young and husband Dempsey, Cindy Benoit, Brenda Holland, all of Lake Charles, and Pamela Tramell and husband Mark of Mittie, LA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raoul Ashford; first husband and father of her children, Clifton Benoit, Sr.; parents, Sammy and Camelia Veillon; sisters, Melanie Vidrine, Virgie Soileau, and Odette Landreneau; brother, Harris Veillon; and grandchildren, Bobby Smith and Tiffany Benoit.

Her Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at St. Margaret Catholic Church.  Father Sam Orsot will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at University Baptist Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with a rosary at 11:30 AM.
