Annabelle Brockes

Annabelle Macdonald Brockes, 83, of Lake Charles, LA died on August 11, 2010 in her residence.

Mrs. Brockes was born July 4, 1927 in Lecoma, MO and was a high school graduate from Chicago, IL. She lived in San Antonio, TX for over thirty years before moving to Lake Charles in 2003. She was a member of University Baptist Church, where her passion was for teaching her Sunday school class. She also enjoyed reading.

Mrs. Brockes is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Robert Brockes; sons, Robert Dale Brockes and wife Rosa, of Lake Charles and David Carey Brockes and wife Jane of Monrovia, MO; sister, Nellie Lou Harris of LaHoya, CA; four grandchildren, Monica Smith, Bryon Brockes, David Craig Brockes, and Darrin Christopher Brockes; and four great-grandchildren, Gayle, Shelby, Garrett, and Conner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Belle Macdonald.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Carlys Beard will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
