Annabelle Lefrere

Annabelle Mary Nelson LeFrere, 94, died September 29, 2018, in her residence, with her loving family at her side.

Born to Onesiphore Nelson and Ovita Mary Pratt Nelson in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, Mrs. LeFrere moved with her husband to Lake Charles as a young bride in 1944. She was a homemaker and reared her five children to know and serve the Lord. She was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and delighted in dancing, especially to Zydeco music.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her five children, Calvin LeFrere, Sr. (Jeanette) of Lake Charles, Carl LeFrere (Dianne) of Moss Bluff, Ronald LeFrere (Joyce), Jacqueline Simien (Ronnie) and Arlene Rigmaiden (Wayne), all of Lake Charles; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, Percy LeFrere; and two grandchildren, Bradley Simien, and Jennifer Broussard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2PM on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Msgr. Danny Torres will officiate. Interment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home from 5PM until 8PM on Thursday, October 4 with a rosary at 6PM Visitation will resume Friday morning at the funeral home from Noon until 1:45PM.
