AnnaLou Blanchard White, 84, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, October 08, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. White was born and raised in Rayne and has lived thirty five years in Lake Charles. She worked nearly twenty years as a clerk for Mervin Kahn's Department Store. She was a woman of Faith, devoting much of her time to service through the church. She was a member of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a sixty year member of Catholic Daughters, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Senior Circle, Very Important Christians and a volunteer for the Cathedral Rectory. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and choir for many years in Rayne, LA. Mrs. White enjoyed being around people and associated with several ladies groups. She was a great cook, always happy to cook and bake for friends and family and will be most remembered for "the best Kibbie in town". She leaves to cherish her memory, nephew and caregiver, Jim Blanchard and wife Elsie of Sulphur and their children, Doug Blanchard of AL, Cherie Kyle of Carlyss and Randy Blanchard of IN; nieces, Valerie Buchanan, Cecelia Blanchard, Barb and Gwenn Kostelechy; nephews, Claude and Eddie Blanchard and many extended nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Maurice Broussard and Theodore White; her parents, Alcia and Olivia Credeur Blanchard; five brothers and one sister. Funeral services Saturday will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation Saturday will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Graveside services Saturday will be at 4:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Rayne, LA. Mrs. White's family wishes to express a multitude of thanks to her Doctors and their staffs of Emeritus Assisted Living, Synergy Home Care and her therapists for their love, care and dedication. Also to her many friends for their prayers and friendship. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any Catholic charity of choice.
