Annette Dupre Touvell

Annette Dupre Touvell, 65, of Lake Charles passed away at 9:55 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 unexpectedly in her residence.

Mrs. Touvell was born on May 10, 1958 in Mobile, AL and moved to Lake Charles as an infant and lived here all of her life. She attended LaGrange High School. Mrs. Touvell was fortunate to be a homemaker and raise her children and babysit her grandchildren.

She took great pleasure in gardening and tending to her plants and flowers. Mrs. Touvell had a giving and kind heart and was always helpful and friendly. She never met a stranger. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family and the time spent with them was cherished. They had many family cookouts, barbeques, and family gatherings and outings. To know her was to be blessed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 47 years, Ronald “Ronnie” Touvell; children, Heather Touvell of Lake Charles, Gerad Touvell (Misty) of Iowa, Beth Touvell (Brandon Babineaux) of Moss Bluff, Katherine “Kat” Touvell (Justin Guidry) of Sulphur, and Marci LaRocque (Austin) of Sulphur; parents, Marcia and Wade Dupre, Sr. of Lake Charles; siblings, Wade Dupre, Jr. (Debra) of Lake Charles, Denise Pinter (Bob) of Lake Charles, Pam Higginbotham (Mark) of Lake Charles, and Erick Dupre of Sulphur; and sixteen beloved grandchildren. She also leaves behind the Touvell side of the family.

She was preceded in death by a sister in law, Janet Edmondson.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Jeremy Folding will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. A gathering will begin on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
