Anthony "Tony" Cutrera, Jr., 82, of Lake Charles passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Cutrera was a native of New Orleans and has lived nearly sixty years in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School and Loyola University. He served the United States Army as a First Lieutenant Military Police during the Korean Conflict. Served two years as MP Company Commander at Presidio in San Francisco, CA and five years in the reserves. Mr. Cutrera worked his younger years as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Parke Davis and later years retired in Industrial sales from Louisiana Fasteners. An avid sports fan, he was a member of South Lake Charles Little League and coached youth football and basketball. He was also a member of the Power Squadron, Southwest Health Council Board of Directors, Mr. Cutrera was a man of faith, a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he was a lecturer for over forty years. He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Castaing Cutrera of Lake Charles; three daughters, Jean Terracina (Lucas), Cathy Mitchell (Steve) and Debra "Deb" Ayres (John); three sons, William "Bill" Cutrera and (Arleen), Mike Cutrera (Sharon) and Mark Cutrera (Michelle); two sisters, Joyce Segari and Jane LaCombe, both of New Orleans; one brother, John Cutrera of New Orleans; twenty-one grandchildren, Nicholas Terracina, Diane Terracina Rump, Claire Terracina, Jacob Terracina, Christy Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell, Lori Mitchell Murphy, Rachael Ayres, Valerie Ayres Burge, Andrew Ayres, Daniel Ayres, Anthony Cutrera, Natalie Cutrera, Timothy Cutrera, Matthew Cutrera, Eric Cutrera, Kimberly Cutrera, Kelli Cutrera, Brittany Cutrera, Allison Cutrera, Connor Cutrera; and six great-grandchildren, Patrick Terracina, Nuala Terracina, Addison Rump, Westin Leger, Luke Mitchell, Lyla Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Cutrera, Sr. and Anna Jacob Cutrera; his aunt and uncle who raised him, William and Bertha "Jerry" Desportes and two brothers, Lucien Cutrera and Leon Cutrera. His favorite season was football, his favorite team was the Barbe Bucs, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to A.M. Barbe High School football team. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM Friday, October 23, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor Daniel Torres will be the celebrant with Monsignor James Gaddy, the con-celebrant. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Thursday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation Friday will be from 8:00 AM until the 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
