Retired Gunnery Sgt Anthony "Tony" Webb Retired Gunnery Sgt. Anthony "Tony" Glynn Webb, 44, of Lake Charles passed away, July 25, 2014. Gunnery Sgt. Webb was a native of Sulphur, LA. He was a graduate of Sulphur High School where he was a talented athlete on the football and baseball team. He retired, E-7 Gunnery Sergeant following twenty three years of service. During his service he was awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation Certificate, Letter of Appreciation, Meritorius Mast Certificate of Appreciation, Rifle Expert Qualification and Pistol Marksman awards. He served in many areas of the United States and Japan and was deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. GySgt. Webb devoted his life to the Marine Corps and took great pride in his service. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and cheering for LSU and the Saints. His greatest times were shared with his family, teaching, leading and coaching his sons in football and baseball. GySgt. Webb will be most remembered for his joyful spirit. He leaves to honor him, one son, Jordan Anthony Webb of Jacksonville, NC; step-son, Christopher Matthew Payne of Jacksonville, NC; mother, Bonnie Broussard of Sulphur; grandfather, Glynn Broussard of Sulphur; one half-sister, Jenny Nelson and husband Danny of Sulphur; half-brother, Jake Breaux of Sulphur; mother-of his children and wife of twenty years, Elaine Esquillo Webb of Stafford, VA and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Allen Webb. Funeral services with Military Honors will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 17, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Scott DesOrmeaux will officiate. Visitation Friday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
