Anthony Jimmy James Mallett

Anthony James Jimmy Mallett, 70, of Lake Charles, LA died at 3:45 PM on Monday, December 3, 2012 in a local hospital.


Mr. Mallett was born August 11, 1942 in Hathaway, LA, raised in Sulphur, LA, and lived in Lake Charles for the past fifty years. He worked at R. E. Heidt Construction as a heavy equipment operator for over thirty-five years. He was a member of the Catholic faith. Mr. Mallett played the bass guitar in a band during his younger years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved spending time in his flower garden. He was a car enthusiast and had a special love for his mustang. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jimmy was known for his generosity and kindness.


Mr. Mallett is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Priscilla Gary Mallett; sons, Jason Mallett and wife Ana and Michael Mallett and wife Jennifer, all of Lake Charles; and grandchildren, Wyatt Anthony Mallett and Michelle Suzanne Mallett.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Joseph and Amy Mallett; and brothers, Joseph Claude Jake Mallett and Eugene Lee Mallett.


His funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
