Anthony Joseph Clayton

Anthony Joseph Clayton (A.J.), 60, passed away in a local care facility on December 19, 2017.

He was born on August 27, 1957 in Key West, FL to Jeanette and Charles Clayton, Sr.

The son of a Navy officer, Anthony spent much of his childhood in southwest Louisiana.

He loved his grandchildren who he called his “killer bees.” He also enjoyed watching professional bull riding and the New Orleans Saints and listening to zydeco.

He is survived by his children, Crystal Morrison (Joe) of Longville, LA; Natasha Johnson (Jimmie) of DeRidder, LA; Jason Clayton (Sara) of Longville, LA; the mother of his children, Karen Clayton; grandchildren, Hadley and Judd Morrison, Channing and Bryer Johnson, Blacen, Brody, and Bentley Clayton; a brother, Michael Clayton of Belle Chasse, LA; sister, Mary Sue Callens (Bill) of Sulphur, LA; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Brenda Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Rufus Clayton, Jr.; and a sister, Ruby Wright.

His funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM until the time of the service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family to cover expenses.
