Arine Victorian Carter

Arine “Ella Mae” Victorian Carter, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 18, 2017.

Mrs. Carter was born in Holmwood, Louisiana to Foster and Marteal Victorian on August 21, 1934. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an excellent cook and spent 42 years in the dietary department at Christus St. Patrick Hospital and 10 years working in dietary services with the Calcasieu Parish School Board. Mrs. Carter was generous and caring and loved to joke. She was not afraid to speak her mind. She was devoted to her Lord and a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, J. B. Carter; children, Mark Carter, David Carter (Tamika), Wilford Carter, Sr., Eddie Carter (Elizabeth), Shirley Dejean, Alice Zachary (Andrew), D. W. Carter (Willie), and Nancy Carter; paternal grandchildren, Brandon Washington, Sterling Carter, Anastasia Carter, and a host of other grandchildren; great grandchildren, Brayon, Bryan, and Bryson; brother, Paul Victorian; sister, Alma Steven; a host of nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Dianne Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rose Huntsberry and Mabel Tizeno; and brother, Joe Victorian.

Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 on Saturday June 24, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Uche will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 AM until 11:30 AM with a rosary to be recited at 10 AM at Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday prior to the service.
