Arlene Mcdaniel Hohensee

October 23, 1941 — May 3, 2013

Arlene McDaniel Hohensee, 71, of Sulphur passed away Friday, May 03, 2013 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Hohensee was born in Mab, LA, raised in Oakdale and was a graduate of Leesville High School and Lamar Technical Institute. Having worked over forty years as an LPN, thirty of those years were with Dr. Richard Kent. She was an active member of East Ridge Baptist Church (formerly Twelfth Street Baptist Church) where she was the pianist for thirty years. She played for twenty years prior in the churches her father pastored. Mrs. Hohensee had a passion for life and adventure. She enjoyed most everything from riding roller coasters, hiking, canoeing to sky diving. Her greatest joy was in being her daughters' and grandchildren's biggest cheerleader, as she followed karate, dance recitals, baseball games, and band concerts. She also took great pride in following her daughter Kim and husband Tim (Christian Artists) in their concerts. Mrs. Hohensee will be most remembered for her quick wit, overwhelming strength and as a woman of faith.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Alan Hoppy Hohensee of Sulphur; two beloved daughters, Kimberly Partin Couch and husband Tim of Lake Charles and Sherry Partin Hitefield and husband Jesse of Moss Bluff; step-daughter, Melanie Ayres and husband Allen of Beaumont; five grandchildren, Chandler Hitefield and Mckinna Hitefield, both of Moss Bluff and David Ayres, Elise Ayres and Audrey Ayres, all of Beaumont; two brothers, Francis Mac McDaniel and Chris McDaniel, both of Silsbee, TX and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Tom McDaniel and Alice Chandler McDaniel.
