Arnaud A.J. Joseph Mire, Jr.

Arnaud "A. J." Joseph Mire, Jr., 95, of Lake Charles, LA died at 1:10 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2012 in a local care facility.


Mr. Mire was born September 1, 1916 in Port Arthur, TX. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Rawlins from 1944 to 1946. He worked as an Ironworker for Local #710 for forty-one years before retiring. He also worked on the repairing of the Panama Canal in 1976.


He is survived by three granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.


He was dearly loved by all and will be missed.


Mr. Mire was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Mire; parents, Arnaud Joseph Mire, Sr. and Eda Yentzen Mire; daughter, Jean Fletcher; and grandson, Richard John Clements.


His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Danny Torres will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.


The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Christus St. Patrick Hospital, Rosewood Nursing Home, Christus St. Patrick's Hospice, and most of all his caregiver, Jeune Syas with PDI, over the past year.
