Arnold Leblanc

August 8, 1939 — January 28, 2012

2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight. I have finished the course, I have kept the faith."

Arnold LeBlanc of Lake Charles was called home by God's holy angels on Saturday, January 28, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer and placed in the arms of Jesus. He was born in Elton on August 8, 1939 and was a graduate of Hathaway High School and Beaumont Barber College. He began his fifty-year barber career at the historical Charleston Hotel in Lake Charles. Later he worked at the Dixie Barber Shop, The Matador and then Colonial Hair Design, retiring in 2010.

He was an avid hunter and guided for years. He loved fishing, hunting, and especially cooking, and he looked forward to bringing family and friends together for meals. Arnold was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was an inspirational role model, dedicated barber and always available for advice and encouragement. He was very generous, always willing to help those in need or who were struggling. His love of the Cajun heritage was very evident in his love of French music. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, where he and Brenda were married.

Mr. LeBlanc was preceded in death by his parents, Elzy "Jack" LeBlanc and Valentine (Courville) LeBlanc.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Brenda, his loving and devoted wife; his children, Monique LeBlanc and Joshua LeBlanc of Lake Charles and Mark LeBlanc and wife Beth of Kingwood, TX; grandchildren, Drew and Madison LeBlanc of Kingwood, TX and Christian Bertrand of Lake Charles; one great grandchild, Ava Jayde Bertrand; Joshua's fiance'e, Kelli Chiasson and her daughter, Avery Chiasson; and three brothers, L. G. LeBlanc and wife Ann and Charles and Lonny LeBlanc, all of Lake Charles.

His courageous spirit will live on in our hearts forever. His memory will be cherished and his presence greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Msgr. Ronald Groth will officiate. Interment will be in Bertrand Cemetery in Hathaway. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until service time.

Pallbearers will be Drew LeBlanc, Christian Bertrand, Lonny LeBlanc, Charlie LeBlanc, Warren Vidrine, Cody Vidrine, and Shawn Vidrine. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mike Bergeron and L.G. LeBlanc.
