Arthur Cooper Guillory, 80, of Sulphur, LA, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in his residence.
Cooper was born August 10, 1940 in Jennings, LA to parents, Arthur Guillory and Beatrice Leger Guillory, who precede him in death. He was raised in Lake Charles and after graduating from Washington High School, he moved to Cleveland, OH and graduated from The Cleveland Institute of Masonry. He joined the Army, where he served during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged as a Specialist 4. He then returned to his home in Lake Charles and was offered the position of Lab Tech at Conoco Refinery. Later he became an operator and was promoted to a supervisor. Cooper retired from Conoco after thirty-two years of service. Cooper attended McNeese State University and later attended the Calcasieu Sheriff’s Academy and was assigned as a deputy sheriff for three years. In July 2006, he was offered the position of Deputy Marshal by Ward 4 Marshal Billy Guidry in Sulphur.
Mr. Guillory leaves to mourn, his wife of twenty-seven years, Patricia Greenlee Guillory; sons, Ron S. Guillory and wife Donna and Michael Narcesse and wife Tina; daughters, Shalita Guillory, Amanda Cormier and husband Gilbert and Shara Donovan and husband Jeremy; sisters, Josephine Odom and Rose Mary Briggs; fifteen grandchildren, with another on-the-way; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Linus Guillory, Gilbert Guillory, Agnes Leger, Herman Guillory, Annie Guillory and Kelly Guillory.
His funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Joby Mathew will officiate. Burial will follow in Combre Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at University Baptist Church from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with a rosary at 10:30 AM.
