Arthur J. "Bubba" Singer, Jr., 78, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011.
Mr. Singer was born in Breaux Bridge, LA and was raised and educated in New Iberia and Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Landry High School where he was an athlete, having excelled in Track and Field. Mr. Singer worked over forty years for United Gas, having retired a Service Supervisor with Entex.
Mr. Singer enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing dominos and cards and vegetable gardening. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
Mr. Singer will be most remembered for his love of his family as he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of fifty four years, Catherine Broussard Singer of Lake Charles; four children, Rick Singer and wife Jan of Orange, TX, Terry Singer of Moss Bluff, Tommy Singer and wife Ruthie of Moss Bluff and Connie Singer Henagan of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren, Mandy and Jason Singer and Shannon Morphew, all of Orange, TX, Andy , Sean and Daniel Singer, all of Moss Bluff, K'dee Clark of Lake Charles, Amy Singer of Moss Bluff and Chance Clark of Lake Charles; six great- grandchildren, Tyson, Clayton and Keaton Morphew, Jaxson Singer, Braedon Morphew and Jadon Singer and two sisters, Jackie Christ and her late husband Bobby and June Benoit and husband Charles, all of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur J. Singer, Sr. and Regina Rembert Singer.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Rosary services will begin at 6:00 PM in the church.
