Arthur James “A.J.” Hoffpauir, 86, of Sulphur passed away on May 16, 2016 in his residence. A.J. was a member of Wesley Methodist Church in Sulphur and also a member of Local 106 for 50 years. He served his country in the U S Navy and after retiring as a welder he went to work for Kent LeDoux at Gray Ranch for 28 years. He loved riding horses and working cattle with all his friends.
A.J. is survived by his daughter, Janice Kounter and husband Steve; his grandson, Courtney Kounter and wife Hope; his granddaughter, Kay Lynn Armer and husband Wendell all of Sulphur; 3 great grandchildren, Hunter Armer, Hadley Armer, and Shelby Kounter; his sister, Virginia Wade; his brother-in-law, Charles Hansen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Hoffpauir; his parents, Arthur and Georgia “Tootsie” Hoffpauir; his sister, Olive Faye Hansen; and his brother-in-law, Michael Wade.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Chuck Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 4-7 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 8 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home until time of the service.Visits: 5
