Arthur Keith Monceaux

January 8, 1967 — April 9, 2022

Arthur “Keith” Monceaux, 55, a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana, passed away on April 9, 2022, while in his Westlake, LA home.  He was no stranger to all corners of Cajun Country-with friends and family spread throughout Rayne, Lake Arthur and Iota.  He lived in Sulphur for roughly three decades of his life.

Keith attended school in Iota, LA and was proud to be an Iota Bulldog.  A welder by trade, he learned the craft while attending welding school in Crowley, Louisiana.  His career as a welder was based throughout Lake Charles and Sulphur in various industrial locations.  He was a proficient teacher and taught many friends and aspiring welders everything he learned about the trade.

Keith was passionate about French music, cajun cooking and the Acadian heritage.  He loved to say, “cook some rice” and that, he surely did often.  He put every bit of passion in each meal he prepared and was always the first to the be volunteered into the kitchen.

True to his lifelong interests, he enjoyed raising livestock, working on many outdoor projects, riding his zero-turn lawnmower and being surrounded by beautiful women-mostly the love of his life and three daughters.

A stranger to none, Keith had no problem jumping into any situation and making even the worst of circumstances work in his favor.  He had admirable traits that allowed for anyone to see his genuine love for people-he made no hesitation to show up for the friends and family that he loved when in need.

Keith was a God-fearing man who often quoted scripture and proverbs from the Bible.  Moving mountains is possible even with faith the size of a mustard seed.

Keith is survived by his daughter, Kayla Monceaux and her son Arliss; daughter, Tabitha Monceaux and wife Destenee; daughter, Melinda and husband Lester along with their children Aubree, Samuel and baby DeLouche due in November.  He also leaves behind his beloved mother Carol Jane and husband Horace Doucet, along with Horace Doucet, Jr. his wife Tina, their sons, Adam, Matthew, Jacob and Joshua.  His sister Rhonda Kay and her husband Wendell “Kee-Kee” Cloud.  His nephews Jim Andrus and wife Brenda, their children, his nephew Samuel Andrus and wife Rachelle, their children, his nephew Marcus Dronet and wife Amy, along with their children.  He leaves behind his younger brother Brian Monceaux, his spouse Jenny and Brian’s son Devin Monceaux.  Last but not least his twice ex wife and love of his life, Teresa Ann Monceaux.  Keith was preceded in death by his father, Charles Monceaux of Westlake, as well as his great aunt Lisa Nugent and first cousin Eric “Lee” Carlin.

A memorial service for Keith will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 3 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur.  The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service.
