Arthur Paul Laneve, Sr., 78, of Lake Charles died on Monday, January 14, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Laneve was born on April 29, 1934 in Newell, WV to Carmen and Eleanora Laneve. He was a 1957 graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. Mr. Laneve retired after 30 years with the U.S. Forest Service. He served three years with the U.S. Army. Following retirement he and his wife, Margaret, ran an antique business for 15 years before moving to Lake Charles in 2003.
Arthur was a faithful Catholic and served as Lay Minister in various churches around the country including Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret; daughters, Pamela Allison and husband Thomas and Beth Laneve and fiance' Lee Joyner; a son, Arthur P. Laneve, Jr. and his wife Joy; a grandson, John Laneve; and his sisters, Mary Hart, Rose Marie Orlando and husband Rocco, and Florence Meredith.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday in the funeral home from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
