Audrey Mae Pego, 94 of Sulphur, died Friday, July 30, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Pego was a native of Kaplan and lived in Gueydan before marrying the love of her life, Allen Pego. They resided in Gueydan until moving to Sulphur 68 years ago. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed her friends and family.
She worked at Serice’s for many years and developed a friendship with the owners, S. J. and Maurice Serice, her co-workers. She loved reading and making homemaking into an art form.
She is remembered by her daughter, Patricia LeJeune of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Chris Jeffers, Paul Jeffers and wife Sara and their daughter, Audrey, and Cory Pego, all of Sulphur; numerous nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.
Mrs. Pego was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Allen; her mother Augusta Abshire; her father, Obrey Hebert; her stepfather, Noland Abshire; three sisters, Hattie Reese, Mattie Weekly, and Hazel Hardy; and three brothers, Wallace Abshire, Curtis Abshire, and Jay Abshire; and her infant daughter, Loretta.
