Audrey Mae Tauzin Hardey went home to be with our Lord and Savior after a long battle with Alzheimer's on March 25, 2013. Audrey was born in Eunice, Louisiana to Paul and Beulah Tauzin, Sr. on February 20, 1935.
On December 8, 1951, she married Francis Wilbur Hardey in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Audrey and Francis along with their six children were residents of Baytown, Texas for 44 years before moving back to the Lake Charles area in 2008. Audrey was passionate about her family, enjoyed cooking and dancing and was an active member of the Baytown Little Theater and the Red Stocking Revue sponsored by the Baytown Junior Forum. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Altar Society and a parishioner of St. Joseph's and St. Jude's Catholic Church. Audrey and Francis enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Paul Tauzin, Jr., husband of 57 years and daughter-in-law, Jeanne M. Hardey. Audrey is survived by her son, David W. Hardey, Sr., M.D., and her daughters, Brenda C. Pornoras and husband James; Sherrie K. Thompson; Frannie A. Poole and husband Matt; Susie F. Green; Mary E. McWhirter and husband Sam; eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on April 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana 70605, with a rosary at 1:00 p.m. The rite of Christian burial and Mass will be at 3:00 p.m. at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 1301 Sampson Street, Westlake, Louisiana 70669 with internment at Magnolia Cemetery. Greatly loved by family and friends, she will remain in our hearts forevermore.
