Audrey Marie Cormier Fontenot

Audrey Marie Cormier Fontenot, 68, of LeBleu Settlement passed away at 12:57 AM on Thursday, June 23, 2022 in her residence.

Mrs. Fontenot was born on January 23, 1954 in Jennings and was raised and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles.  She was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 

In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and soaking up the beauty of nature, especially the red wood trees and the mountains.  She could often be found picking her numerous varieties of fruit trees, fishing, or crabbing.  She was best known for her amazing cajun cooking. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Gardner Fontenot of LeBleu Settlement; children, Belinda Thomas of Lake Charles, Gloria Fontenot of Moss Bluff, and Mathew and Jesse Fontenot of LeBleu Settlement; grandchildren, Joel Baglio, Dallas Thomas, Daylon and Deante White, and Chandler, Caden, and Gavin Fontenot; and great grandchildren, Kinslee, Mekale, and Renlee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Edley Cormier and siblings, Lewis Cormier, Margaret Stewart, and Florence Young.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 27, 2022 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel.  Burial will follow in Black Bayou Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Sunday from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM and will resume on Monday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
