Audrey Young Naquin

Audrey Young Naquin, 90, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 in a local care center. Audrey was born on October 20, 1927 to Elricke and Madia Ashford Young in Basile, LA.

Mrs. Naquin was married to Sherman J. Naquin for 58 years and worked at his side as the book-keeper for their family owned auto repair business for 30 years. She was very active at both St. Margaret’s Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She worked with a group of ladies making rosaries for various missions as well as praying alongside her husband in the Adoration Chapel at Our Lady Queen of Heaven. Audrey also worked for many years in the CCD Prep office at both churches.

Mrs. Naquin is preceded in death by her husband, a son, Benjamin Jules Naquin, a grandson, Jerel Gutgsell along with her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, daughters Sandra Kinard and Glenda McKeon, and her son Anthony “Tony” (Donna) Naquin. Audrey also leaves 7 grandchildren, Dean (Beth) McKeon, Yvonne (Ricky) Hernandez, Rene McKeon, Erin McKeon (Ivan Ramirez), Corey Duhon, Stacie (Andrew) Musgrove, and Haley Naquin, along with 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brother Ricky (Diane) Young, Jr., and two sisters, Alferda (Floyd) Broussard and Jane Savoy along with 13 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 5-8PM with a Rosary being held at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, October 12, 2018, from 12-2PM. A funeral mass will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 2:30PM, officiated by Msgr. Daniel Torres. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Harbor Hospice and the Guardian House for their extraordinary care shown to their mother.
