Austin Sonnier

Austin Paul Sonnier went to sing with angels on May 21, 2022 at the age of 32. He was born December 17, 1989, in Lake Charles, LA to Susan Rhorer and Michael Sonnier. Growing up he learned to hunt, fish, build, work on vehicles, and ride horses. He spent a lot of time with his father and gained a passion for crane operating. He later went on to have children and become an equipment operator.  He was a member of Woodlands Church and enjoyed attending with his mother. Austin was a jack of all trades and worked well with his hands. He always found joy in the outdoors and family activities. He was full of knowledge and forgiveness. Where Austin was, laughter was sure to follow. He loved everyone, especially his daughters, big like the world. He will forever be remembered for his pure and golden heart. 

To carry his memory, Austin leaves behind his mother Susan Rhorer and husband James Rhorer; sister Leslie Sonnier; daughters Lillian Bellard, Marybeth Bellard, their mother April Bellard; step-siblings, Courtney (Matt) Andrepont, Taylor (Dakota) Finn, Dylan and Eric Rhorer; grandmother Beverly Sonnier; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

With the Lord, Austin joins his father, Michael Sonnier; brother Jason Perkins; and three grandparents.

His service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Woodlands Church, led by Pastor David Lilley. Visitation will be 11:30 AM, until 1:00 PM, at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Woodlands Church at 13032 Highway 171 Longville, LA 70652.
