Avelina Baltazar Johnson

Avelina "Mao" Baltazar Johnson, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2023, as she went to her Heavenly home. 

She was born on February 5, 1937, in Manila, Philippines to Claudia and Albert James Baltazar. She was married to late husband Ronald Royce Johnson. Avelina is survived by her children and their families, Olivia Baltazar and husband Salvador Ang Jr of the Philippines and their children Donna and husband Elmer Abad Jr., Andrew, Shyla, and Patrick Ang. She is preceded by her late son Romualdo Baltazar. His children Rosalyn and Rommel Baltazar. Mary Glenda and late husband David Morris Battiste of Plaquemine, LA, and children Arlyn Vallejo from the Philippines, Anna Marie Battiste-Dunn and husband Brodrico Dunn, Eduardo and Albert James Battiste and wife Ciara Battiste. Gina Lynn Johnson of Mountain House, CA, late son Reyron Johnson and son Rainer Johnson Ignacio. Debbie Ann Johnson & husband Phong K. Vuong of Lake Charles, LA, and children Joyce Abegail Uy, Alex Loyd Battiste, Kent Andre Battiste, and Jessica Johnson Battiste. She left behind a host of great grandchild, AJ, Yza, Blu, Drew Raphael, Andrea, Airizia, Patricia Venice, Yashi Loraine, Salvador Ang III, Jazmyne Brown Battiste, Jaylin Brown, Mya Broussard, Amyra Battiste, Gabryana Bennett-Battiste, Gaiden Bennett, Kingston Battiste, Malakai Bazile, Malik Bazile, Kiatina Allen, Adien Battiste, A'Kyri Battiste, KJ Battiste, and Kyriel Briscoe, Armani Young, and J'Cyeon Battiste, and late Layla Battiste and Andrew Mejia. Sami and Leo Zarife, Logan, Lucas, and Katherine Baltazar.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday July 23, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue from 8:30 AM until 9:00 AM on Monday July 24, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 9:30 AM on Monday July 24, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 3939 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA 70605. Private family inurnment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
