Barbara Perkins “Babs” Ella Self, 86, of Sulphur, LA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2020. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur, LA. Prior to that she was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer, LA. For over 30 years she was a faithful song leader at church singing unto the Lord. Babs loved life and she sure loved people. Babs loved working on the farm and making jelly. She loved to sing and enjoyed the fellowship of all who knew her.
Babs is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Comeaux and husband Floyd of Sulphur, LA and Angela Droddy and husband David of Toledo Bend; one sister, Greta Magel of Singer; five grandchildren, Miste Luquette, Biff Ryan Droddy, Brad Holley, Cody Holley, and Brittney Sunday.
Babs was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Self, Jr.; parents, Josh and Cora Perkins; sister, Jackie Self; brother, Charles Perkins; one son, Johnny Ralph Davis, Jr.; and one grandson, Brandon Davis.
Funeral services for Babs was held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 11 AM at Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer. Burial followed at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Singer, LA under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
A very heart felt expression of gratitude to Trana for taking such good care of Mom and a special thanks to her dedicated and faithful fur baby, Maggie.
