Barbara Harless Chiasson

Barbara Harless Chiasson, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 in her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on June 25, 1948, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Jerry and Mildred Whitley Harless.

Ms. Chiasson was a native of Lake Charles and a graduate of Lake Charles High (1966), and attended McNeese State University. She spent most of her adult career running and operating Harless Inc., founded by her great grandfather Ivan Harless. She enjoyed many years of the Mardi Gras Season with the Krewe de la Noblesse, of which she and her husband, Jack reigned as King and Queen in 2001. When she was not dedicating her time to her grandchildren, she could be found traveling the world or playing Bridge with her Ya-Yas. Ms. Chiasson will be remembered as an honorable woman of faith and family and a loyal friend.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her three children, Carolyn Broussard Miller (Keith), Jerry Scott Broussard (Jennifer) and Erin Broussard Webb (Mike); two sisters, Ann Harless Fister and Jerri Linda Harless; seven grandchildren, Kasey Lewis, Blaine Simon, Allison and Jessie Webb, Shalay and Alexa Chiasson, Meagan McGee; two great grandchildren, Hayes Lewis and Kyland Balentine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jack Chiasson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 935 Bilbo St., Lake Charles, LA. Rev. Shaji Jose will serve as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until leaving in procession to the church.
