Barbara Jean Brown Fletcher

Barbara Jean Brown Fletcher, 76, of Sulphur died Saturday, July 2, 2011 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Fletcher was born, raised and lived most of her life in Westlake. She enjoyed painting, playing the organ, and music and singing. Mrs. Fletcher was fondly known as "Gan-Gan" to the friends of her beloved granddaughter, Marcie; Melody L. Augustine, Shawn S. Carpenter and Angie Self.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Angie Ashworth Lessley and husband Kirk of Borrego Springs, CA; one grandson, Joshua Paul Freeman of Lake Charles; three brothers, Donald Brown and wife Jeanette of Santa Ana, CA, Ronald Brown and wife Phyllis of Westlake and Curtis Brown and wife Helen of Toldeo Bend; one sister, Wanda "Joyce" McDonald and husband Bob of Westlake and four great- grandchildren, Tyler and Raegan Smith of DeQuincy and Cade Guillory and Hunter Freeman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Fletcher; son, Terry Ashworth; granddaughter, Marcie Lessley; parents, Freeman and Selma Brown and two brothers, Allen Brown and Glen Brown.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Willie Bellard will officiate. Gathering of friends will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
