Barbara Welch

Barbara Mary Burke Welch, 87, of Sulphur, passed away on August 2, 2022, in a local care facility with her family by her side.  Barbara was born on November 20, 1934, to Rene’ and Jeanne Burke.  She was born in Delcambre, LA but moved to Sulphur soon after and resided here.  She enjoyed her ceramics and playing games with her family.

Barbara is survived by her children, Barbara Davis and husband Mike, Wesley Welch and wife Betty, Gail Creech and husband Dennis, Brenda Jones and Bonnie Kurten and husband, Ken; her grandchildren, Wesley Scott Shelton, Sean Davis, Ryan Davis, Barbie Shephard, Whitney Welch, Morgan Welch, Katherine Callaghan, Cory Creech, Sarah Schafer, Justin Menard and Kevin Kurten; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; three sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard Welch; one son, James Randall Welch; and two great granddaughters.

Services for Barbara will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 1 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Brother James McCartney officiating.  Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
