Barry Franklin Gaspard, 58, of Lake Charles passed away at 2:37 PM, Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in a local hospital.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, graduating from Lake Charles High School and attending McNeese State University. While attending LaGrange Jr. High School and Lake Charles High he played football and also played for Mid City Little League, Babe Ruth, and W. B. Williamson Post #1 American Legion Baseball. He was employed many years as an Industrial Valve Technician. Mr. Gaspard was a member of Lake Charles Bible Church. Barry was a loving son, father, uncle, and grandfather, who loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons, Barry Jason Gaspard and wife Silvana, and Trent Bernard Gaspard and wife Jessica; mother Betty Graham Gaspard; seven grandchildren; one sister, Jackie Gaspard Zerangue and husband Mike; one brother, Scott Graham Gaspard and wife Sally; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, J. C. Gaspard; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mayo Gaspard, Frank Graham and Yola Sarvaunt.
His funeral will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 24, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Phil Carpenter and Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Sunday, and from 9:00 AM until time of services, Monday, in the funeral home.
