Barry Patrick Bruce

Barry Patrick Bruce, 65 of Sulphur passed away on October 15, 2014 in a Lafayette hospital. He was born in Lake Charles, but lived most of his life in Sulphur. Barry traveled the world working as a welder on the pipelines. He was a member of Locals #106 and #798 and owned a dump truck service. Barry was a Mason and a friend to all he met. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. Barry is survived by his son, Sean Bruce of Hackberry; two sisters, Lana Bertrand and husband James and Darla Perry and husband Danny; three grandchildren, Kameron, Avery and Braeden Bruce and his companion, Faye Cart. He was preceded in death by his son, Shannon Bruce; and parents, Dutch and Annie Ancelet Bruce. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur with Deacon Johnny Mounce officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss with a Masonic graveside service. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. until time of the service.
