Baskin Ray Bennett, 83 of Sulphur passed away on November 28, 2014 in a local hospital. Baskin lived in Sulphur for 70 years and worked for General Adjustment Bureau, Cities Service Oil, Co. and Bobby Gist Pontiac. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving as a paramedic in the U S Army. Baskin is survived by his brother, Allen Bennett of Sulphur; a sister, Ruby Lancaster and husband James of Topsy, La; a close friend, Carolyn Guidry; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Bennett; and a brother, Burl Bennett. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 2 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held in Mimosa Pines Cemetery North in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 10 A.M. till time of the service. The family would like to thank his sitters, Vanessa Batiste, Secreeta Huval, Vanessa Day and also Dr. Maureen Lannan.
