Bea Hill Mcgrath

April 22, 1934 — February 26, 2015

Bea Hill McGrath, 80, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. McGrath was born in Alexandria, LA, lived thirty years in Lake Charles and thirty years in Longville. She worked as a Child Development Aide with hearing impaired children for Speech and Hearing Center and with developmentally delayed children for CARC. Mrs. McGrath was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and later Longville First Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and the Senior group "The Jolly Elders". She volunteered in the children's nursery at both churches. Mrs. McGrath will be most remembered for her love of family and caring for children. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Carol Ann McGrath Martin of Lake Charles; three sons, Kenneth Robert McGrath and wife Carla of Huntersville, NC, Joseph Lee McGrath and wife Barbara of Georgetown, TX and Michael Scott McGrath and wife Andrea of Baton Rouge; twelve grandchildren, Jessica Martin Minton, Llyr McGrath, Andrea McGrath Mohrhaus, Chase McGrath, Sean McGrath, Alexander McGrath, Katherine McGrath, Lauren McGrath, Ashley Moffet, Chelsea Barbo, Kristen Keller, Robert Keller and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty -three years, Robert McGrath; son, Richard Alan McGrath and parents, Lee and Minnie Richey Hill. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Stuart Graves will officiate. Interment will follow in Barentine Cemetery in Longville, LA. Visitation Friday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the and will continue Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Helping Hands Ministry, First Baptist Church of Longville, 214 Longville Road, Longville, LA 70652.
