Bel Elender Taylor

Bel E. Taylor, 92, of Lake Charles, Louisiana died Friday, November 27, 2015 in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family present and in spirit.  

Bel was born on August 16, 1923 in Lake Charles, LA to Winnie “Bill” and Lily Elender. She was known for her love of her family and friends. Bel was strong in her faith and a lifelong member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She enjoyed porcelain painting and water color painting as her hobbies. Bel was extremely proud of her family and grand children.  

She is survived by her two children, Mary Taylor Williams of Lake Charles, LA and Jonathan A. Taylor and wife MaryAnn of Richmond, Virginia; four grandchildren, Jessica Taylor Reon and husband Brian, Katherine Elizabeth Williams, Yvonne Marie Taylor, Elise Michelle Taylor; one adopted grandchild, Shane Nathaniel Baker; and three great grandchildren, Owen Joseph Reon, Julianne Bel Reon, and Elizabeth Claire Reon.  

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of fifty three years, Vance Edwin Taylor; one brother, Alford Elender.

A mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a 3:30 PM Rosary at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM Monday at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Father Matthew Cormier will officiate.
