Belin P. Landry, Sr., 95, of Lake Charles died Friday October 25, 2013 at a local hospital following a brief illness. Belin was born in Vincent Settlement and lived in the Lake Charles and Sulphur area most of his life. Longtime owner of Lake Charles Pipe and Supply, he sold industrial safety supplies and scrap metal. Mr. Landry had a great passion for golf, and played until just recently. He was one of the original founding members of the "Mafia" golf group of the Lake Charles Country Club. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing from the time he was a young man. Family left to honor and cherish his memory are four children, Elaine Coldiron and husband Don, Houston; Bob Landry and wife Linda, Sulphur; Belin Landry, Jr. and wife Joyce, Lake Charles; and Sonia Page and husband Charles, College Station, TX; grandchildren, Lezlie Price, Yoakum, TX; Lonnie Cooper and wife Polly, Houston; Ryan Landry, Robin Neel, Lindsey Landry, Abbey Landry, Dylan Landry, all of Lake Charles; Sarah Page, College Station; and Allison Page, Austin; nine great-grandchildren and one great great grandson. Visitation will be today, Sunday, October 27 at Johnson Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Monday from 12:30PM until 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Monday at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Weldon Bares officiating. Burial will follow at Consolota Cemetery.
