Belle Ortego

Belle Pitre Ortego, 90, of Lake Charles, passed away Tuesday July 4, 2017 at a local hospital after a brief illness.

Ms. Belle was a native of St. Landry Parish and longtime resident of the Lake Charles Area. She was a homemaker and retired from the Gulf National Bank (now Chase). Ms. Belle enjoyed cooking and baking, always sharing the fruits of her labor to her friends and neighbors. She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Preceding Ms. Belle in death are her parents, Henry and Eva Pitre, beloved husband of 60 years, Horace Ortego and a son, Eugene Ortego. She leaves to cherish her memories a granddaughter, Lisa Duke and husband Everett; and three great grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan and Lacy Duke, all of Germantown, Tennessee.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday July 8, 2017 with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 AM at the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home with the Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot officiating. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
