Ben Allen Monroe, Sr.

Ben Allen Monroe, Sr., 39, of Lake Charles passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Duson, LA.

Ben was born on January 18, 1979 in Lake Charles where he attended Barbe High School. He lived life to the fullest with his determination, his heart of gold, and his love for God. Ben loved his family and working out. He could draw extremely well and he leaves behind many beautiful drawings to remember his talent by.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amber Monroe; six children, Kade Comeaux, Misti Monroe, Elizabeth Monroe, Kealeigh Villarreal, Ben Monroe, Jr. ,and Christian Monroe all of Lake Charles; father, Tony “Pops” Bourgeois of Rayne; sister, Kendale Jones (David) of Iowa; father in law and mother in law, Wayne and Janice Cricket Young of Iowa; sister in law, Kori Young of Iowa; brother in law, Matthew Young (Monique) of Lake Charles; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rhonda Lynn Monroe.

His funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for outstanding expenses.
