Benedict Benny Lormand

Benedict "Benny" Lormand was born July 4, 1957 and went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 17, 2011 at age 54.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Amelina and Mena Mae Lormand of Kinder.

He is survived by his daughter, Aimee Keith and husband Joshua of Lake Charles; sister, Marlene Hamm of Conroe, TX; brother, Phillip Lormand of Laurel, MS and aunt, Lola Mae Fontenot of Kinder.

Benny was raised in Kinder and graduated from Kinder High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Citgo for over 30 years.

He will be remembered for his lively sense of humor and zest for life. He always valued family, traditions, and home cooked meals. He gained much joy from riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and felt a special appreciation of God's creation while working in his garden.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery in Kinder. Visitation will begin at Johnson Funeral Home Thursday from 3PM-9PM with a scripture service at 6PM. Visitation will continue Friday from 8AM until time of service.
