Benson Louis Landry, Sr. 55 of Sulphur passed away on April 30, 2013. He was a member of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur and the Knights of Columbus. Benson was very religious going to church and confession regularly. He loved playing Barbie with his granddaughter, riding motorcycles, and the outdoors including fishing and camping. He also loved to run and in 2002 ran a half marathon in Houston. He also was a Saints fan and loved LSU football. Bensons family was the most important part of his life. Benson is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Docia Landry, of Sulphur; 2 sons, Benson L. Landry Jr. and Jaous Henry Landry; daughter, Datha Genevieve Landry; father, Billy Landry; brother, Joe Bill Landry; sister, Sharon Darlene Ardoin and granddaughter, Lillian Marie Gann. He was preceded in death by his mother, Datha Landry. The family request donations to be made to the Huntington Disease Society. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Friday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
