Berna Boone

Berna Matte Boone, 81, of Sweetlake, LA died, January 20, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Berna was born September 21, 1932 in Sweetlake, LA to Maria and Albert Matte. Mrs. Boone was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church. She was also a member of the choir for twenty years. She loved visiting and shopping with her girlfriends, enjoyed being around friends and family and always supported her grandchildren in all they do. Survivors include her sons, Jody and Eric Boone of Sweetlake, LA, her late husband sons, Keith, Carl and Robert Boone; one sister, Una Vanzeldon of Plano, TX; and numerous grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 20 years, Herbert Boone; two sons, Trevor Boone and Danny Templeton; one brother and four sisters. Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume Thursday from 8:00 AM until service time. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
