Bernadine Goodeaux

Bernadine Goodeaux, 79, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in a local hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Goodeaux was born in Elton, LA on March 23, 1938, to Goldman and Agnes Bergeron LaFleur.

Bernadine was a graduate of Hotel Dieu X-Ray School and worked as an X-Ray Technician at W.O. Moss Hospital. She always said that her three loves were the Good Lord, her family and popcorn. She was an avid reader and really enjoyed watching old western movies.

Ms. Goodeaux is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Denise Goodeaux of Lake Charles, LA, along with her sons,

Shawn P.Goodeaux and his wife Sue Ellen of Singer, LA, and Brent A. Goodeaux and companion Cindy Benoit of Lake Charles, LA. She also leaves four grandchildren, Brittney Nicole Goodeaux (Chris) Savant, Aimee Cheree’ Goodeaux (Trenton) Domingue, Courtney Layne Nolan, and Nick Benoit. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Cole Christopher Savant and Brooklynn Benoit. She also leaves her sister, Eloise Strickland of Bayou Pigeon, LA.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles from 10AM-1:30PM on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Funeral services will follow at 2PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel, officiated by Father Allan Trouville. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family desires that donations be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel – Newman’s Club in memory of Bernadine.
