Bernice Cady Ayo

November 12, 1926 — April 21, 2012

Agnes Bernice Ayo, 85, of Lake Charles passed away at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 21, 2012 in a local care facility.


She was a native of Calcasieu Parish and lived in Lake Charles most of her life. Mrs. Ayo was a graduate of Iowa High School and worked as a secretary and insurance clerk. She was a former member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and an avid bowler and participated in both city and state bowling tournaments.


Survivors include her son John Warren Ayo and wife Phyllis; two daughters, Wanda Alexander and husband Randolph, and Annette Marie Ayo all of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, John David Davison and wife LaNissa, Christopher Alan Ayo, Kassondra Ward and husband Avery, and Keaton and Hannah Authement; one brother, Ronnie Cady and wife Lorrie; two sisters, Dolores Borel, Roberta Bourgeois and husband Kenneth. She was preceded in death by her husband and the father of her children, Eugene John Ayo.


A Family Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Reverend Peter Cook will officiate. Interment will be at a later date. A gathering of friends and family will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Church. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to NAMI of Southwest Louisiana.
