Bernice Granger Bertrand Beaugh, 98, of Lake Charles died at 6:11 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in a local care facility. Born in Kinder, Mrs. Beaugh lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She worked for 22 years as a bus driver for the Calcasieu Parish School Board. She was a member of the Pink Ladies at St. Patrick Hospital Auxiliary, Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters, AARP, and a VIP Person. She enjoyed spending time in her yard planting flowers and gardening. She also loved to cook and dance. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Howard Granger and wife Amanda of Westlake; two daughters, Joyce Peoples and husband Leroy of Lake Charles and Sharon Lyons of Westlake; two sisters, Ethel Corte of Lafayette and Hattie Arkus of Dunedin, FL; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; eighteen great great grandchildren; seven great great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorthea and Joseph McGee; three spouses, Lawrence Granger, Cyprian Bertrand, and Howard Beaugh; three brothers, Cleve, Amos, and Hallie McGee; and a sister, Eva Mae Gunther. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. John Huckaby will officiate. Burial will follow in Benoit Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM followed by a prayer service by Rev. Tom Bruce. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 9:30 AM.
