Bert Stine

Bert Stine, 83, of Westlake, Louisiana died at 5:00 PM Thursday February 7, 2013 in his residence with his loving family at his side.

Bert was a native of Freeport, Illinois and has lived in Westlake since 1959. He was an Air force Veteran. He worked for Conoco, retired from Sasol, and later worked for L'Aburge du Lac Casino. Bert was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He attended St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake. He truly never met a stranger.

Mr. Stine is survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence Fay Fabacher, one grandson, Heath Stine, four brothers, Jack Stine of Freeport, IL, Jim Stine, Mike Stine and Russ Stine all of Bridgeman, Michigan, two sisters, Peggy Krieger and Sherry Lynn Darnell of Bridgeman, Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his mother Bernice Stine of Freeport, IL, his father Bert Stine and loving step mother Loretta Stine of Bridgeman, Michigan, one daughter, Tina Stine, one granddaughter, Heather Thomason.

His funeral mass will be held on February 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Mike Barras and Deacon Garrett Caraway will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM in the funeral home. Visitation will continue at 8:00 AM on Monday until 1:30 PM.
