Bertha Marie Fuselier Soileau, 86, passed away on July 27, 2017, in a local care facility.
Mrs. Soileau was born to Addie and Corrine Fuselier on December 28, 1930 in Mamou, LA.
She married Etest Soileau on October 30, 1948. In 1958, 59 years ago, they moved to Lake Charles. Mrs. Soileau was a devoted housewife and will be remembered as an excellent cook and seamstress.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry Soileau (Velma), Rita Quinn, Linda Gaskin (Tim), Connie Parks (Charlie), Charlene Soileau, Tricia Hooper (Sherman), and Tena Fogleman (Eric); 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one brother, Claude Fuselier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven siblings, and one great grandson, Landon Matte.
Her funeral service will be at 11 AM Monday, July 31, 2017, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Deacon Anthony Pousson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 PM until 8 PM, with a rosary to be recited at 6 PM. Visitation will resume Monday morning from 9 AM until the start of the service.
