Beth Ann Smith

Beth Ann Smith, 58, of Lake Charles died at 10:27 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Smith was born on August 10, 1956 in Lake Charles and was a graduate of LaGrange High School. She and her husband lived in Houston for 20 years before moving back to Lake Charles 22 years ago. Mrs. Smith attended San Jacinto College in Houston. She was a devoted and dedicated member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church. She greatly enjoyed camping with her husband and was always ready to go. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 39 years, Melvin Smith; a son, Jonathan Smith of Lake Charles; four siblings, Mickey Thibodeaux of Orange, TX, Becky Miller of Orange, TX, Don Thibodeaux of Lafayette, and Kathy Nobel of Denver, CO; her mother, Elizabeth Thibodeaux, of Rayne, LA; and a beloved grandson, Mason Smith. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Thibodeaux and a sister, Josette Melancon. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Eastwood Pentecostal Church. Pastor Aaron Lopez and Evangelist David Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday in the church from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
