Bettelou Snead

July 18, 1941 — February 2, 2023

Bettelou Snead, 81 of Lake Charles passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Bettelou was born on July 18, 1941 to Lawrence and Ethel Manuel and lived her entire life in the Lake Charles area.  She loved her family, grandkids, great grandkids, fishing, eating crabs and God!

Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 sons; Kurt Hyatt of Lake Charles, LA., Daren Hyatt of Iowa, LA., and Alan Hyatt of Lake Charles, LA. 5 sisters, Lori Kerr and husband Tommy of Montgomery, AL., Linda Stapp of Montgomery, AL., Jennie Catania and husband Frank of Sicily, Italy, Madelyn Alford and husband James of Montgomery, AL., and Sophia Dahlen and husband Peter of Lake Charles, LA., 2 brothers, Elroy Manuel and wife Adele of Moss Bluff, LA., and Barney Manuel and wife Sally of Destin, FL., sister in law, Fran Manuel of Denham Springs, LA. Son in law, Keith Roessler.  11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded by her parents, Lawrence and Ethel Manuel, Brothers, Woody Manuel and Mason Manuel, Sister, Bonita Stapp and daughter, Ruby “Tinker” Roessler.

Visitation will be Monday, February 6, 2023 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605 and will resume Tuesday morning at 9:00AM.  Funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, also at Johnson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park.
