Betty Ann Concienne Verret

Betty Ann Concienne Verret, 77, was called home on Saturday, October 15, 2011.

Mrs. Verret was born in Patterson, Louisiana on March 18, 1934 and moved to Centerville, LA at the age of 3. She then moved to Lake Charles in 1960. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters.

She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Verret loved gardening and had an endless love for Elvis. She was a generous lady who never met a stranger. Mrs. Verret will be missed by many and truly blessed by the ones she touched.

Mrs. Verret is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald Rodney Verret; two sons, Donald Anthony Verret and wife Donna and Keith James Verret; one daughter, Kathy Ann Johnson and husband Mike, all of Lake Charles; mother, Agnes Bartel of Lafayette; one sister, Brenda Miller of Lafayette; and eight grandchildren, Justin Verret, Christopher Johnson, Derek Verret, Amanda Jurgens, Caldon Olmsted, Patrick Johnson, Chace Olmsted, and Hannah Clements; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Concienne, Sr. and her brother, Howard Concienne, Jr.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Scott Conner will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
