Betty Jean Hodges, 86, of Sulphur, LA passed away on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on September 26, 1938, in Coyell, LA to Obie Tate and Golda Elaine Easley.
Betty enjoyed singing, traveling, and loved sharing memories of her life with her family. She was easy to love and will always be missed for her loving ways. Betty also enjoyed being around friends and family as well as playing her favorite card games. She also wrote songs and sang with various famous singers including Loretta Lynn on the Louisiana Hay Ride Association for many years.
Those left to cherish her memory are Two Children, Golda Boyd and Jennifer McLean and husband David; grandchildren, Dawn Davis, Amie LeBlanc, Taylor Lovett, Brian McClane, and Danielle Cutlip, Harold Bumgarden, Blaine Cutlip, Bradly Bumgarden, Victoria Bumgarden, Harper Cutlip, Ellie Mae Bumgarden, Blaze LeBlanc, Chas LeBlanc, Riggs LeBlanc, Cruz LeBlanc, Paxton Stermer, and Ashton Stermer; one brother, Obie Tate; and one niece, Sandy Tate.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one great grandchild, Edward Borel; her three sons, David Davis, Ricky Hodges, and Stanley Davis.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 31st, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur LA. Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM until time of service on Friday, January 31st, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Burial will be at Bigwoods Cemetery.
