Betty Jane Pine

Betty Pine, 89, of Sulphur, LA passed away on September 17, 2023, in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born on April 3, 1934, in Church Point, LA to Gabriel and Lelia Doucet.

Betty enjoyed being around friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren the most. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church. You could find Betty watching her beloved Saints or LSU team during the football season in full support. She also enjoyed camping, working in her yard making sure the plants she loved stayed in bloom. Betty was a great cook and loved feeding the children when she worked in the school cafeteria for many years at W.W. Lewis School in Sulphur.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Jackie McDaniel and husband Glenn of Carlyss, LA and Pat Gros of Carlyss; three grandchildren, Brandon McDaniel and wife Melissa, Amanda Dougherty and husband TJ, and Megan Bratton and husband Nate; 8 great grandchildren, Lawson, Aubree, Ella, Collins, Tyler and wife Kayla, Daulton and wife Elise, Matthew, and Grayson; one sister, Shirley Bullock.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Lelia Doucet; husband, J.C. Pine; son, Rick Pine; son in law, Wally Gros; siblings, Bernadine Fusilier, Berlin Doucet, Joyce Bailey, and Gilford Doucet.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Fr. John Welch will officiate services.
